Theme:Unfolding

Good Shepherd: The Chapter FernThe Koru

The koru represents the unfolding of new life – everything is reborn and continues.

It represents renewal and hope for the future. For the enduring story to continue it needs to keep unfurling, to keep extending like the koru which reaches towards the light, striving for perfection, encouraging new beginnings.

Action: Google “koru” and enjoy the beautiful images that appear.

Expand. Extend. Fan (out). Flare (out). Outspread. Outstretch, Unfold. Open.

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” Anonymous.

“From little things big things grow” Paul Kelly & Kev Carmody.

“Unless a grain of wheat falls on the ground and dies, it remains only a single grain; but if it dies, it yields a rich harvest.” John’s Gospel 12: 24.

Reflection Pointers

purple heartImagine being a seed in the ground, surrounded by the dark earth, being moistened with water…

Imagine being a tightly coiled bud and feeling the impulse to let go…..

Imagine being a tendril ready to unfurl…

Do you remember a time when something like that happened to you, calling you to stretch & unfurl?

Looking at the Good Shepherd Story when have you seen this happening – maybe 100 years ago? Maybe 50 years ago? Maybe now?
